What can the Elements Teach us?
- EARTH: Root into the earth to feel connected and balanced. Learn to align your skeletal system more efficiently to reduce pain and tension in the body.
- WATER: Develop fluidity of movement from the support of the foundation. Improve the function of the circulatory system, and oil up your joints with synovial fluid. Release tightness and inflexibility in the mind and body.
- FIRE: Focus scattered thoughts. Fire up the muscles to support a deeper purpose.
- AIR: Expand from the focused center out. From the base of support created through the previous elements, breathe deep, discover freedom of the body and mind.
How can this retreat Help Me?
Do you experience stress? Are there places of stiffness or tigthness in your body? Do you ever need a little pick-me-up? We all need some time to recharge our batteries. Summer Elements Yoga Retreat offers a safe, relaxing, supportive environment, where you will be encouraged to work at your own pace. New students will receive modifications and the proper alignement information to stay injury free. More seasoned students will be challenged to find their edge.
Who should Attend this retreat?
EVERYONE!! Sharon and Inka gently guide students to a deeper state of mind body awareness through somatic movement, contemplation, and Thai Yoga Massage. If you have ever needed a period of relaxation and stress reduction, this retreat is for you!
Where is the retreat?
We are fortunate to be able to offer our classes at a beautiful location, just outside the Village of Saugerties. The studio is a 30′ round yurt located at Miriam’s Well (directions). The yurt and the land surrounding it is imbued with wonderful positive energies. Practicing in a circle encourages community and represents the inter-connectedness of all things. We will have room to lift our arms without bumping into one another. Weather permitting we may explore the grounds as part of our comtemplation time. At lunch time, we are invited to use the in ground pool on the property.
What is the day’s schedule?
You need a one day retreat, right here in Saugerties! Join Inka Rector and Sharon Penz for a day long retreat that will rejuvenate, relax, and renew your mind/body connection. Cultivate joy and rediscover your natural balance as we explore the elements. A delicious, wholesome lunch will be provided and there will be free time in the afternoon to swim, write, or wander around the beautiful grounds at Miriam’s Well.
